J&K Bank opens new Business Unit, ATM at TalliMorh

J&K Bank today commissioned a new Business Unit (BU) along with an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at village TalliMorh in R S Pura near the International Border.
The bank’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) R K Chhibber inaugurated the new BU and the on-site ATM in presence of its President Arun Gandotra,Vice Presidents Sudhir Gupta, Shareesh Sharma and Sushil Kumar Gupta, amid a good gathering of valuable customers, senior citizens, local businessmen of the area and senior officers of the bank.Prominent citizens of the area included Ram Singh, Aditya Gupta and Raj Kumar.
The inauguration of these touchpoints comes on the auspicious occasion of Mahanavmi that will help cater to the financial needs of the various socioeconomic groups of the area thereby deepening the financial inclusion.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMD said, “We feel elated to dedicate our new business unit and ATM to the residents of TalliMorh and the adjoining areas on the auspicious occasion of Mahanavmi. This place which is also known as the ‘Rice Bowl’ of Jammu region is famous producing the best quality Basmati rice that is savoured not only in the country but across the world. We trust that commissioning of this new branch will further transform the socioeconomic condition of the inhabitants through effective financial intermediation”, he added.
Urging the people of the area to avail various schemes of the bank, tailored for farmers, unemployed educated youth and people engaged in different business activities of trade and services, the CMD said, “Our bank remains committed to empower not only individuals but the communities irrespective of their location and status within J&K and beyond.We believe in engendering visibly positive change in the lives of people by transforming the financial landscape of the societies we operate in, thereby providing a wider choice of tailor-made products, services and better access to different socioeconomic groups.”Highlighting the Bank’s special scheme for rice mills the CMD urged the people to avail it to their benefit.
After the inaugural ceremony, the CMD held an interactive session with the customers and the local businessmen inside the premises of the new Business Unit. While thanking the CMD, the locals appreciated the bank’s role in socio-economic development of the area, and expressed their satisfaction on the opening of the new business unit besides admiring the spacious and attractive ambience of the BU and putting forth their valuable suggestions. During the interaction the customers requested for revision of interest rates especially in the agricultural segment.

While requestingfor facility for pensioners at the branch, the representatives, expressedthat nearby RS Pura Main Business Unit wascatering to a huge number of pensioners and there was a pressing need for setting up a new business unit preferably exclusively for the pensioners.The CMD assured redressal of all the issues in the best possible manner in line with the regulatory requirements.
The CMD also exhorted the Head Business Unit and staff of the Branch to walk extra mile in delivering best possible customer services as per the vision of bank.
The BU shall provide advice and guidance to consumers on all types of banking needs including mortgage, business banking, other loans and investments in addition to various government sponsored schemes.
Notably, with the commissioning of this new Business Unit and ATM, the number of J&K Bank Business Units and ATMS across the country has now risen to 944 and 1333 respectively.
