World's 2nd coldest place Drass gets 1stBank ATM <i>J&K Bank committed to deliver banking services regardless of geographies – Tafazal Hussain</i>
J&K Bank turned a historic leaf Tuesday when it dedicated first ATM to the people of Drass which is 2nd coldest inhabited place on earth.
Tafazal Hussain, Bank's Executive President dedicated the facility to people amid huge public gathering.
Others present on the occasion included Chetan Paljore, Bank's Vice President and Tasaduq Ahmad, Bank's cluster head for Kargil.
Speaking on the occasion Tafazal Hussain described the opening of ATMs in areas like Drass as part of Bank's massive expansion plan that "is focused on delivering banking services at the peoples' doorstep regardless of their geographies".
We are opening more branches and ATMs in the Ladakh zone in the coming months, he informed the gathering. He maintained that the Bank always tries to meet the expectations of the people.
"It is your Bank; we are just its custodians. Your emotional equity in the Bank makes you its prime owners. And we, as custodians, are always eager to provide you the best of products and services" he said.
"We are always there for you. Be it specially designed products for your specific needs, world class services, providing finances, directly and indirectly, through government sponsored schemes", he added.
Commenting on the target of Rs One Lac Crore that the bank has set for itself for FY 2012-13, Tafazal said that the pace and performance of the Bank in the current financial year indicates that the Bank will achieve its targets well within time.
Stating that J&K Bank is committed to make the lives of people in J&K better through innovative and productive financial intervention, he said that the Bank's contribution to state's economy is acknowledged by one and all.
He urged the staff to help wholeheartedly every prospective entrepreneur and serve customers to the point of delight. He further said, "Despite a share of just 34 % branch network in the state, our credit dispensation share is more than double this share. Our CSR initiatives are there for all of you to see and handling of lakhs of social welfare and NREGA accounts is something that only J&K Bank can do."
We have pledged to make you financially empowered and we shall do it – at all costs and in all circumstances. But the only thing that is needed is that you have to come forward and avail these life-changing schemes of the Bank and government sponsored schemes that offer huge subsidies as high as 35%", he added. Locals hailed the Bank's effort and assured of their complete cooperation.
