Valley gets first ATM hub J&K Bank to install 100 more ATMs
Leveraging technology to provide services to its customers at the closest possible destinations, J&K Bank dedicated its first ATM hub in the valley to the people here today.
Inaugurated by A K Mehta, Bank's Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer, in the busy Poloview area of the city center, the hub, housing two ATMs, is expected to off load the heavy customer rush. Speaking on the occasion Mehta reiterated the Bank's commitment to widen the scope of multiple delivery channels such as ATM installations, anywhere banking etc. across the length and breadth of J&K state to provide enhanced levels of customer service. "In this endeavor, I feel pleasure in informing you that we have already installed thirty ATMs during the last month while installation of more than 100 ATMs is in the pipeline, Mehta revealed. The need for the hub, as per Mehta, arose because of the heavy customer rush on the Bank's ATM at the Poloview. "The terminal was recording more than 800 transactions per day resulting in some inconvenience to our esteemed customers. So we decided to offload the rush and install one more ATM to make it more convenient", Mehta stated.
The ATMs installed are equipped with inbuilt cameras to ensure higher levels of security. Apart from valuable customers of the Bank, those present on the occasion included Parvez Ahmed, Bank's president and Head Kashmir (Central) Zone, Tajamul Qadri, branch head, Poloview, Waqar-ul-Mulk Nazki, branch head Residency Road, M.A Khan, branch head Hari Singh High Street, Bashir Ahmed, branch head SSI, Lal Chowk, Mukhtar Ahmed, branch head Air Cargo and Mushtaq Ahmed, branch head Amira Kadal.
Meanwhile, Javed Ahmed Dar, MLA Rafiabad inaugurated another ATM of the Bank at Dangiwacha. Amid huge customer presence, Javed hailed the Bank's role in providing finance to the small artisans and entrepreneurs under the Bank's micro-credit initiative.
