J&K Bank today dedicated an ATM to the people in Surankote, Poonch. A K Sahu (IAS), DDC Poonch inaugurated the facility in presence of R K Chhibber, Bank's Zonal Head for Jammu (West).
In his address, Sahu appreciated the efforts of the Bank in reaching out to the far flung areas of the state with its wide range of financial services and solutions. He hailed the Bank's substantial role in developing the economy of Poonch district by providing hassle-free finances to the people.
He appealed the gathering to avail the benefits of the Bank's schemes while engaging more youth in the process of employment generation through establishment of income generating units.
While interacting with the people present on the occasion, R K Chhibber gave a detailed account of various products of the bank and the initiatives taken to transmit the benefits of technology to public.
He said, "To boost agro-based sectors, farming community is being provided Kissan Credit cards so that the total financial requirements of the farmers are met adequately and in time".
Chhibber suggested the educated youth to avail the benefits of various employments generating programs particularly Sher-i-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Program for youth (SKEWPY), PMGSY, SGSY, and other government sponsored schemes and Bank's tailor-made products.
Ghulam Jeelani Shah, Cluster Head Poonch also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements of the Bank with regard to loans sanctioned under government sponsored schemes.
ADC Poonch, BDO Surankote, Tehsildar Surankote, Head B.U Surankote, Principal GHSS Surankote and local Sarpanch and Panches were also present on the occasion.
