Reaching to unreached :J&K Bank opens branch in Turkwangam, Shopian
In its endeavour to further maximize its outreach in geograhically remote and hitherto unbanked areas, J&K Bank today dedicated a business unit to people in Turkwangam, a remote apple-rich hamlet in district Shopian.
M.A Khan, Bank's Vice-President & Zonal Head for Kashmir South did the inauguration in presence of respected citizens, bank officials and officers of the district administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Khan described the ongoing streak of branch openings that the Bank has undertaken, a part of Bank's strategy to take the benefits of banking to remotest corners of the state.
"Bank's strategy is to bring all the unbanked areas into the fold of banking in order to act as a catalyst in peoples' urge for economic empowerment", Khan said.
Urging people to take full advantage of bank's products and services, Khan sought their support and cooperation in realising the bank's vision to take the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of equitable growth and prosperity.
M. A. Soharwardy, Bank's Cluster Head in his address gave a detailed overview of services and products tailor-made by the bank for various sectors of the economy.
Locals appreciated the Bank's management for putting the area on the banking map.
