While carrying out its mission of reaching out to all, the J&K Bank's Business Development and Promotion Centre (BDPC), Anantnag has been conducting regular awareness-cum-deposit mobilization camps in far flung villages in South Kashmir. In the past six months, the BDPC has conducted 40 such camps where the people, particularly those living below poverty line were apprised about various deposit and loan schemes especially tailored by the bank for weaker sections of the society.
In this month, three such camps were held at Hovermeshpora, Khudwani, Laripora, Pahalgam and Mazgam, Kulgam. The people showed overwhelming response to these camps and showed eagerness to know about the products and services of the bank, as they were first time exposed to such awareness camps. The people on the spot opened hundreds of deposit accounts. The features of schemes like Childcare, Recurring, Recurring Plus etc were point of attraction to the people present in such camps. The bank officials assured them of all out financial support for establishing income-generating units.
