JK Bank's district dialogue initiative ends in Anantnag
With customer convenience at the core of its business strategy, the J&K Bank Chairman and CE, Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu along with his top management team met public delegations representing federations, associations and various segments of customers on the second day of ‘District Dialogue Initiative' held at Dak Bungalow, Islamabad in south Kashmir.The initiative assumes importance because of its completely horizontal format of dialogue, where top management of the bank for the first time held face-to-face interaction with customers and the general public, who came from all the areas of the district.
The top management of the Bank listened to the grievances, complaints and suggestions from individuals as well as public delegations. And on-the-spot redressal mechanism was already set in place wherein the concerned Bank officials were promptly instructed to alleviate the problems of the customers.On the occasion, Chairman and Chief Executive of the bank, Dr. Haseeb A Drabu, apprised the audience about various initiatives taken by the bank during the past two years to give a boost to the state's economy and reach out to the people who have remained unbanked. While reacting to a customer's statement, Dr. Drabu said, "The bank has redesigned its business strategy. Earlier the bank was doing most of its lending outside the J&K State. Now for the past two years, we have reversed the trend. Today our credit portfolio constitutes around 58% lending in the state of Jammu and Kashmir which was earlier just hovering around 30-40%.". The Chairman and CE of the Bank also promised to explore the possibilities of establishing a regional office headed by a senior official at Anantnag. Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Executive Director, Mr. Nissar Ahmad Koul, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Shah and Mr. N D Samnani (Presidents) and mr. Nazir Ahmad Nowshehri, Vice President, were present on the occasion. Meanwhile people from all the walks of life especially the business community of the district have appreciated the J&K Bank initiative as a significant move to strengthen the bond between the bank and the people.
