JK Bank Sidhra upgraded to Model Business Unit
J&K Bank today dedicated its Sidhra Branch in its new ‘avatar' as a Model business unit to the people of Sidhra, a satellite colony in Jammu.
It is a spacious building having interiors with lattice woodwork displaying Kashmiri craftsmanship besides being equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Its spacing has been modeled so as to facilitate a queueless and hassle free customer interaction through ‘single window service'.
Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner Secretary, Finance (J & K), congratulated the people of Sidhra for having the world class facility at their doorsteps and advised them to avail the maximum benefit from the Bank's services.
Speaking at the inaugural function he said, "It is difficult to find any other bank except J&K Bank which has achieved such heights of excellent performance in such shorter span of the last fifteen years." The bank which reflects the vision of the state government is racing ahead realizing new dreams, he added.
He further said that the government had undertaken many projects in collaboration with the Bank to improve the quality of people's lives through employment generation schemes, establishing Customer Service Centres (CSC), facilitation of payment mechanism like in NREGA and other social initiatives like Electronic Benefits Transfer Scheme (EBT).
Earlier, Mr. Ashok Mehta, Executive Director & COO J&K Bank dwelt in detail on the customer-centric initiatives taken by the bank under the exemplary leadership of its Chairman Dr. Haseeb Drabu. "The bank plans to have 50 such model branches in the state out of which 20 would be in Jammu Province", Mehta revealed.
He said that from a small entity in 1938, J & K Bank has leapfrogged into a financial supermarket whose name resonates across the national frontiers.
He announced that the Bank while extending its e-based services further would be launching a chip supported passbook shortly.
Madan Gupta, Vice President, Jammu (Central) said that in fulfillment of the objective of ‘serving to empower', the bank's vision is to transform the lives of the people economically and socially through a series of measures like technological interventions and customer focused solutions.
Besides, Vijay Bakaya, MLC and retired chief secretary, others present on the occasion included prominent citizens, retired govt. officials, bank executives and the local people.
