J&K Bank organises KCC camp at Vijaypur
Reaching out to the farming community and giving boost to the agriculture sector in the state, J&K Bank organised a credit awareness camp regarding Kissan Credit Cards at village Sangwal in Block Vijaypur, Jammu.
The Bank distributed 1500 KCCs among the farmers, who attended the camp in huge numbers.
It was the 7th such camp in succession in Jammu Central Zone during the current kharif season. The bank has earlier organized Kissan credit camps at Akhnoor, Ramgarh, Nagriparole, Mahreen, Marh etc.
Bank's President & Zonal Head Jammu (Central) O P Sharma inaugurated the camp attended by farmers including women folk of the area and nearby villages. Welcoming the guests Zonal Head gave a detailed overview of achievements of the bank and impressed upon the people to avail the benefits of various schemes launched by the bank.
Zonal Head informed the gathering that the zone had received 19475 KCC applications, out of which 15877 cards have been issued to the farmers involving an amount of Rs 13.10 cr.
He also apprised the farmers about benefits of Kissan Credit Card and assured them of conducting such awareness cum credit camps in future also.
He further stressed upon farmers to diversify into Horticulture and Floriculture for better returns and constitute Farmer Clubs for better co-ordination with the bank. For ladies he suggested formation of Self Help Groups and assured them of full support of the bank for establishing their units.
Sarpanch, panchs and general public of the area requested for a water tank for the children studying at Government Middle School Sangwal which has no drinking water facility available.
Sharma assured the gathering that the bank would soon provide the school with a water tank for the children and staff.
Others present on the occasion were Vinay Sawhney Cluster Head, Susham Sharma Head Marketing Department, Tara Chand B/U Head Vijaypur and various officers of Bank besides officials from Agriculture department, Sarpanches of the area and local residents.
The farmers and school management hailed the pro-active approach of the Bank.
