J&K Bank opens branch in far-flung Surara village
Keeping its commitment made just 7 days ago J&K Bank today inaugurated a fully computerized Business Unit (B/U) at Surara – a far flung village in Gagwal block of district Samba.
Notably, the announcement was made by J&K Bank Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmed during the visit of Governor RBI, Dr D. Subbarao to village Surara in connection with a function regarding Financial Inclusion Programme on 20th of this month.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh snapped the ceremonial ribbons in presence of officers from District Administration, Senior Officers of J&K Bank from Zonal Office & Cluster Office, Sarpanches and a large gathering of people from the village and its adjoining areas.
Thanking the J&K Bank Chairman and the management of the Bank for opening the branch in a backward area within 7 days of its announcement, the Deputy Commissioner hoped that the establishment of the branch would usher in an era of economic growth and social well-being of the people from the area.
Speaking on the occasion, J&K Bank President & Zonal Head O.P. Sharma said, "Today we dedicate this fully computerized B/U at Village Surara to the people of this village. We made it operational within a record time of 7 days after our Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad made an announcement here in this village."
He urged the people to avail the benefits of the products and services of the bank.
Local residents hailed the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the bank and assured their full cooperation. Cluster Head, Kathua Suresh Kotwal presented the vote of thanks.
