Srinagar, Mar 18: J&K Bank commissioned an ATM in a simple and impressive function at Kishenpur, Manwal in Udhampur near Power Grid.
The ATM was inaugurated by General Manager (I/C-Projects) Power Grid S K Sharma inaugurated the Teller Machine in presence of the bank’s Zonal Head-Doda M I Wani, Cluster Head-Udhampur Iqbal Singh & Heade B.U Manwal Susheel Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion S K Sharma appreciated the role of J&K Bank in providing world class banking facilities to people across the state.
He said that this ATM would facilitate the people of Power Grid colony and the inhabitants of nearby villages’ round-the-clock access to their hard earned money.
Zonal Head highlighted the banks’ commitment to expand its reach to the every nook and corner of J&K state.
He said, “Opening of ATM at this location is a step in that direction.”
He also said that J&K Bank has host of technology driven products and shall keep on extending better and faster services to its customers.
Cluster Head Iqbal Singh shared with the gathering that the ATM was the 18th ATM opened by J&K Bank in the Udhampur district.
Bandipore Camps
The Bank’s FLCC Bandipore Center organised various awareness programmes at villages Kehnusa, Nowgam, Inderkoot, Baharabad and RSETI Bandipore wherein a large number of people from the area participated.
Facilitator FLCC Bandipore apprised the audience about the concept & importance of Financial Inclusion and its impact on the economy of the society and advised them to open accounts with the financial institutions and convey the message to those who could not attend the camp.
He apprised the audience about importance of financial literacy in the overall growth and economic development of societies.
LDM and Director RSETI Bandipore also participated in some of these camps wherein they educated the people about the government sponsored schemes that have been tailored to meet their basic financial requirements.
Kupwara Camps
The Bank’s FLCC Center in Kupwara organized a financial literacy camp at Shamnag in collaboration with the Lead Bank Office and B.U Kralapora.
The camp was attended by a good number of people hailing from the hamlets of Shamnag and adjoining areas besides the students and teaching staff of Govt. High School Shamnag.
Another such camp was conducted at Machipora Handwara in collaboration with the bank’s B.U Handwara, which was attended by cross-section of society.
Facilitator FLCC Kupwara informed the audience about opening of different accounts particularly the savings, other deposit accounts with the banks and educated them about budgeting, management of money, importance of savings and advantages of savings with and borrowings from the banks.
He impressed upon the student community and their parents to avail the benefits of Education Loan for pursuing higher professional and other technical courses of their choice for better and prosperous future.
Similar camps were conducted at Wahipora, Unisu and Sulkote Kupwara. The camps were attended by a good number of people including trainees at RSETI and a handicrafts center.
Among other things of importance, the participants were apprised about services and products of banks particularly Artisan Credit Card, Dastakar Finance, schemes under SKEWPY and the scope for establishment of various income generating units.
Meanwhile, continuing with its endeavor to provide banking facilities at their doorsteps J&K Bank conducted financial literacy camp and Coin/Note Exchange Mela at Panchari, one of the remotest areas of Distt Udhampur.
The camp was organized at BDO’s office Panchari.
