JK Bank lifts qualifying round of Federation Cup, makes history
J&K Bank Football Team made a history by qualifying for the main rounds of one of the Federation Cup, the oldest and prestigious football tournament of the country.
In the finals of the qualifying round played at Devi Lal Sports Complex Gurgaon on 27th November, 2009, the Bank's Football Team defeated its rival Ragoo Football Club Haryana by 1:0. The lone goal was scored by Nigerian player Ibrahim in the second half of the match. With this the Bank's team has made its place in the mains of the tournament which is scheduled to be played at Gawhati from 18th of Dec. 2009.
Pertinently J&K Bank's Football Team has become the first team from the state of Jammu and Kashmir to have ever qualified for the mains of the Federation Cup.
