J&K Bank inaugurates B K Pora premises, on-site ATM
J&K Bank President & Zonal Head Kashmir (Central) Bashir Ahmad Lone today inaugurated the new premises of Business Unit Baghat Kanipora along with an on-site ATM. The function was followed by a customer meet.
Vice President Viqar-ul-Mulk Nazki, Incharge Marketing Mohammad Ayoub Wanchoo, Cluster Head Budgam Abdul Hamid Khan, Head Business Unit Bashir Ahmad Sofi, other Bank officials, clients, senior citizens and local traders were present on the occasion.
Speaking at the meeting, Zonal Head said, "The Bank is currently working on multiple fronts to provide people of J&K the world class banking infrastructure, need-based products, schemes and best customer services. That's why our new Business Units, as we can see here, are spacious, elegantly built and equipped with state-of-the-art banking technology."
"It is because from the last seven decades this Bank has taken upon itself the mission of transforming the financial landscape of this state to achieve self-reliance and economic empowerment."
And with the generous support of people and the sustained dedication of all of its employees, it is currently among the fastest growing Banks in the country, he added.
The meeting was succeeded by a lively discussion as issues were brought up by the participants regarding the Business Units, its staff and the services offered by the Bank. The participants were unanimous in appreciating the customer services provided at the Business Unit besides dedication of staff.
Responding to one of the queries regarding cumbersome process of identification, the Zonal Head said that the Bank has strictly to follow the guidelines provided by Reserve Bank of India regarding the customer knowledge under its Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.
To another question, Zonal Head explained that the Bank was the only organisation after government that provided direct employment to hundreds of educated youth of the state at regular intervals.
He urged the audience to cooperate with the Bank staff in protecting and promoting the assets of the Bank that works 24X7 for their collective socio-economic welfare.
J&K Bank is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee next financial year and it is right on track to achieve its set target of Rupees one lac crore business and Rupees one thousand crore profit, he informed the public.
In this regard, he asked all the people of the area that falls within the catchment of Baghat Kanipora and its adjoining villages to open their accounts with the Business Unit as a kind of their participation in achieving the huge milestone for the Bank.
Earlier, the Vice President talked about various products and schemes of the Bank that have been tailored for every section of people according to their needs and economic aspirations.
He said, "The Bank is pro-active in lending to the entrepreneurs and other businessmen approaching it with genuine and viable proposals. Just avail our products and employ these into your profitable ventures."
