J&K Bank holds customer meet
In keeping with the Bank's resolve for a customer oriented service and as a sequel to the Bank's recently launched "I am listening" campaign, a customer meet was held at Business Unit Baghi Ali Mardan Khan on 27th June, 2009.
The meeting, presided over by M A Chuloo, Business Cluster Head, Kashmir Central Zone Cluster II, was attended by a good number of prominent customers of the Business Unit which included representatives of industrialists, traders, artisans and other valued customers.
The participating customers while expressing their satisfaction over the service and customer care by the staff at the branch, complained that the branch was not fully equipped and empowered to fulfill requirements of the customers in general and the industrial units in particular since the branch has been initially set up to meet the banking and financial requirements of the industrial estate of B A M Khan.
The participating customers suggested that the Bank should train its staff for appraisal of Industrial and Finance related cases. They urged the Bank authorities to grant special powers to the branch heads for early disposal of industrial and financial projects, temporary overdrafts, ad-hoc facilities, Bank Guarantees and powers for issuance of commitment letters for finance and rehabilitation of industrial units.
The customers further called for faster and more efficient processing of routine transactions including cash payments, cash receipts and its credit to respective accounts.
"Remittances should be ensured by efficient management of staff and providing of additional hands wherever necessary", customers demanded.
The customers present on the occasion insisted on immediate transfer of the benefits granted to the clients under the Bank's relief package.
The other demands put forth by the customers include waiver of charges on any-where cash transactions with outstation third party accounts, waiver of requirements of tangible collateral security for industrial units in line with the national industrial policy. rehabilitation of sick-industrial units and enhancement of cash withdrawal limit of ATM cards to Rs. 50000/- as a special case for SMEs to meet their contingency requirements.
Mr. M. A. Chuloo, Business Cluster Head while highlighting the policies and initiatives of the Bank for supporting the trade, industry and micro enterprise in the State and improving the services delivery and customer care at the branch levels assured the participants that all their demands and suggestions will be considered for implementation with a positive mind at the branch level and also taken up with the higher authorities of the Bank wherever necessary.
Altaf Ahmed Wani, head of the business unit assured the customers of best possible services.
"It is our obligation to provide the best of services in the industry. I assure you that your concerns regarding speedy disposal of the credit cases would be given prime consideration. I will also, at my own level, raise the issues facing the traders and industrialists with the Bank management", he assured the participating customers.
