J&K Bank football talent hunt programme.   <i>30 probables shortlisted in Jammu</i>
Continuing its efforts to promote football in the state, Jammu & Kashmir Bank launched second phase of its Football-talent-hunt programme at Jammu.
J&K Bank's Executive President and Chairman Sports Board Tafazal Hussain launched the second phase of the sports promotion programme at GGM Science College Jammu in presence of Bank's Zonal Head Jammu O. P. Sharma, Resident secretary JKFA (Jammu wing) Surinder Singh Bunti and Secretary Bank's Sports Board Mohammad Amin Khan.
The Bank's talent search committee of the Jammu region, headed by Sunil Khajuria has selected second pool of thirty young footballers who would be tested for the final selection as trainees under the Bank's sports promotion program.
Notably, the committee has shortlisted 30 boys from 150 participants through a rigorous selection process in Jammu while as in the first phase thirty boys from Kashmir region have been shortlisted for training.
Speaking to the shortlisted budding players of Jammu region, J&K Bank Executive President and Chairman Sports Board, Tafazal Hussain said, "Being a conscious corporate citizen, under the guidance of our chairman and CEO, Mushtaq Ahmad, we professionalized our sports activities under the banner of J&K Bank Sports Board. We introduced a talent hunt programme to identify the budding talent in the game of football for proper coaching and technical guidance so as to produce a quality pool of players that could not only become a part of our corporate football team but represent J&K State in national and international level competitions. The groomed footballers would also be available as a pool of talent for other institutions.
He made it clear that the boys shortlisted in Srinagar and Jammu would undergo further screening and the selected lot would be groomed by professional footballers.
It's worth mentioning that the Bank has been supporting various sports activities and the local players through various modes and plays a tremendous role in giving fillip to the talent available in various sports. "Under the guidance of our Chairman and CEO, Mushtaq Ahmad, the bank under its corporate social responsibility will continue to harness sports talent in the state and will support the activities up to the maximum possible extant," said Tafazal Hussain.
Secretary Bank Sports Board, Mohammad Amin Khan, gave vote of thanks to Jammu-based talent search committee for their judicious and meticulous efforts in the selection and JKFA Jammu wing for their valuable support.
