J&K Bank family pays tributes to Aijaz Banday
Bidding a tearful adieu to their colleague and friend Aijaz Ahmad Banday, J&K Bank staff today held a condolence meet here at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters. Banday passed away yesterday at SKIMS Soura after a brief spell of illness.
The meeting was attended by the bank’s Executive Presidents (EP) Abdul Hamid Banday, O P Sharma, Presidents Abdul Rauf Bhat, S K Bhat, Vice presidents and other staff.
In his message from Mumbai, Chairman & CEO Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Aijaz and said that the entire J&K Bank family mourns his loss and equally shares the grief of his family.
Paying rich tributes to Ajaz, Abdul Hamid Banday said, "Aijaz was a thorough gentleman with an intellectual bent of mind. He was well known among literary circles in the valley."
With his untimely death, we have lost a wonderful companion, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, President HRD Abdul Rauf Bhat paid homage to the friendly character of Aijaz and said, "He had a nice and friendly demeanour towards others. He was always there to help others. He was a very decent man who contributed to the success of this organisation in his own way."
"He would made friends out of strangers and would always have a smile on his face. We shall miss him badly for all times to come", said Altaf Ahmad Wani, President J&K Bank Officers Association. The meeting concluded with a fatiha and prayers for the departed soul.
