J&K Bank educates youth at Kapran Employment fair
In order to make aware rural people about financial assistance for self-employment schemes, district administration Shopian organized an Employment Fair at Government Higher Secondary School Kapran, Shopian.
J&K Bank was specially invited for the occasion to educate the gathering that comprised mostly of educated, energetic but unemployed youth of the area.
District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr M.S Sood (I.A.S) inaugurated the fair which was third of its kind in presence of Additional district development commissioner Shopian Syed Atta-u-llah Simnani, Cluster Head J&K bank (South-IV), Manzoor Ahmad Suharwerdi.
In his inaugural speech D.D.C Shopian appreciated the role of J&K bank and described it as "big brother" in the upliftment of economy of our state and stressed upon the fact that role of J&K bank in empowerment of unemployed youth is indispensable.
He emphasized the need of organizing such fairs and he advised job seekers to come forward and take the benefit of various schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Cluster head J&K bank Manzoor Ahmad Suharwardi dwelt upon different schemes which the bank has tailored for people with specific financial needs from time to time.
He said, "It is high time for young entrepreneurs to come forward with proposals of income generating units and be a job provider rather than a job seeker and discussed Sheri Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme in thread bear."
He educated the audience about newly designed schemes for empowerment of unemployed youth of our state.
He informed the gathering that J&K bank will provide best possible support and ensure smooth credit flow to beneficiaries with definite plan to avail benefits of various schemes aimed at establishing income generating units.
J&K Bank Business Unit Kachdora had established a stall with a purpose to provide continuous information to visitors about various schemes which the bank has developed for them. Besides other officers of various government departments also discussed their respective self employment generation schemes on the occasion.
Village Kapran has high rate of literacy in district as such this kind of fair is supposed to have good impression upon youth. Among those present on the occasion were district officers of various government departments i.e., agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, district employment exchange, DIC, KVIB, animal husbandries etc.
