J&K Bank disburses Rs.2 crore in Rajouri
J&K Bank disbursed a hefty sum of Rupees Two Crore among various beneficiaries at a function organized on the sidelines of the concluding day of the 5-day Employment Fair held at Sports stadium by Department of Labour and Employment here today.
Presided over by Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan Honorable MOS for CAPD, Power, Transport, Forest, Land and Employment, the function, among others was attended by Mr. Jaipal Singh Deputy Development Commissioner, Rajouri and Mr. M. A. Khan, J&K Bank Zonal Head (Rajouri – Poonch).
Speaking on the occasion Shabir applauded the role of the Bank, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Haseeb Drabu, in encouraging the practice of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Shabir also hailed the efforts of Mr M A Khan, Zonal Head Rajouri-Poonch in convincing young entrepreneurs to avail Bank's employment generation schemes. Bank deserves a big applaud for immensely contributing towards economic development of the distric Rajouri", he added.
Zonal Head M.A.Khan while speaking on the occasion informed the gathering about the achievement of the Bank in the state in general and District Rajouri in particular. He undertook to leverage on Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu's vision of nurturing Bank as regional in nature, national in reach and international in quality of operations,
"Against an allotted target of Rs 18.00 Crores to J&K Bank in District Credit Plan 2009- 2010, Bank has already surpassed the target by registering a credit disbursement of Rs 19.00 Crores", Khan revealed. "Besides, 95% of the business in Rajouri stands computerized and in this year 100% computerization of operations shall be achieved", he added.
Sh. Jai Pal Singh, DDC, Rajouri appraised the gathering about the efforts made by the state administration for the success of the employment fair, He also appreciated the role of J&K Bank in the overall development of the district.
Later cheques to the tune of Rs 2.00 Crores were distributed by the Honourable MOS, DDC Rajouri and Vice President J&K Bank among 88 beneficiaries.
