J&K Bank dedicates 4 ATMs in Rajouri , "People must take benefits of technology" – A. K. Mehta
Continuing with its policy of reaching out to the people irrespective of their locations and making available the latest benefits of information technology, J&K Bank today dedicated four ATMs to the people of Rajouri. These ATMs are located at Gujjar Market, Jawahar Nagar, Nowshera and Sunderbani. Besides, the Bank shifted its Business unit Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri, to a state of the art premises loaded with modern banking technology offering world-class services to its clientele.
Later a function was held presided over by MLA Rajouri Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan and Mr. A.K Mehta (Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Bank).
In his address Mr. A K Mehta highlighted the bank's performance and thanked the gathering in extending their full and whole hearted support to the bank as being rendered by the people of the state. "It is because of your support the bank earned highest ever profit of Rs.409.84 crore during the FY 2008-09", said Mr. Mehta. He also announced establishment of currency chest at Rajouri which will go a long way in making available fresh and serviceable cash to the population of the area.
Mr. Mehta while showing his affinity with the people of the area spoke in the local language. He shared the strategic vision of Dr. Haseeb Drabu, Chairman and Chief Executive of the bank, about the developmental role of the bank in the country and especially in the state of J&K.
Mr. A.K Mehta thanked the banks' client and requested them to utilize the facility of ATM Cards to their advantage as the same card can be operated from ATMs of other banks through out the world.
Mr. Shabir Ahmed khan (MLA Rajouri) congratulated bank functionaries for having registering highest ever profit and hoped the bank will continue to progress. He lauded bank's role in contributing to the development of the state. The MLA requested the bank to initiate an intensive campaign for village adoption and financial inclusion with special reference to serve below poverty line population and increasing the bank's reach by opening more Branches in the districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
The Vice President of Jammu (W) Rajouri Zone Mr.. M A Khan gave details about various services being rendered by the bank with special emphasis on making available banking facilities and benefits to population in unbanked area . Notably, the impressive gathering present on the occasion highly appreciated the efforts of the bank for providing hi-tech services. The customers present on the occasion interacted with Mr. Mehta and the concerned zonal head. It is worth mentioning that three branches of the bank have already been put on core banking solution (CBS) in the district Rajouri and people were apprised in detail about the benefits of this technology.
