J&K Bank convenes meetings, camps
J&K Bank convened a customer advisory meeting at Nagri Doda. The meeting was organised by the bank's Business Unit Nagri in collaboration with Zonal Office Doda.
The bank's President R K Chibber chaired the meeting which was attended by Zonal Head Jammu (North) M Ibrahim wani, cluster Head Kishtwar M Amin Najar and a group of local customers representing cross-section of the society.
Speaking on the occasion, R K Chibber said, "J&K Bank is committed to provide world class banking services to its customers irrespective of their location and status."
He urged the audience to air their views on the bank's products and services so that their genuine feedback is factored into the bank's internal review mechanisms.
Certain issues that were raised on the occasion were addressed on the spot.
Baramulla Camps
The Bank's FLCC center Baramulla conducted awareness camps in Uri and Balhama.
The camp organised in collaboration with the Bank's B/U Uri Civil at Government High School Dhani Syedan, Uri was attended by a good number of people including farmers, contractors, transporters, employees, students and teachers.
Facilitator FLCC Baramulla Mohammad Sultan Dar educated the audience about financial planning, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, different type of borrowings.
The facilitator also deliberated upon Kisan Credit Card scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks for awareness of the audience.
Another such camp was organised at village Balhama in Block Rohama, Baramulla.
Facilitator FLCC urged the audience to refer unemployed youth in the age group of 18-40 to the bank's RSETI's for necessary guidance and capacity building.
DLRC Meet in Poonch
J&K Bank convened a District Level Review Committee meeting of Poonch at Dak Bungalow, which was chaired by DDC Poonch Sajad Ahmad Khan, to review the performance of various banks and other government agencies for the quarter ending September 2013.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Poonch impressed upon all government agencies to accelerate their efforts to sponsor all the cases to banks up to the end of third quarter of the financial year.
He advised the banks to ensure their sanction as well as disbursement well before the closure of the financial year. LDM Poonch M Shafi Ayaz informed the house that the total deposits at the end of the quarter under review were Rs 1395.27 crores and advances were to the tune of Rs 245.61 crores.
During the first half of the financial year the banks had financed 3579 beneficiaries to the tune of Rs 55.12 crores, which constitutes 23% of the Annual Credit Plan of the district. The contribution of J&K Bank in total credit folio of the district is 64.52%.
In priority sector Rs 5.52 crore were disbursed in agriculture, Rs 16.87 crore in Micro Small Enterprises, Rs 0.07 crore in Education, Rs 1.81 crore in housing and Rs 2.35 crores to other sectors. Rs 28.49 crores have been disbursed in non-priority sector.
During the first two quarters of the financial year, 1473 KCC cards amounting to Rs 3.6 crore were issued. The total number of KCC cards issued by the banks is 12457 which amounts to Rs 11.87 crore out of which J&K Bank alone has issued 10300 cards amounting to Rs 7.38 crores.
Besides District Officers of various government departments and banks the meeting was attended by L D O (RBI) Mr. Sharma, DDO NABARD Des Raj, Cluster Head J&K Bank G Jeelani and Area Manager J&K Grameen Bank R S Sambaria.
