J&K Bank conducts awareness camps in Dharamsal, Kalakote
J&K Bank yesterday organized awareness camps about ‘Financial Inclusion' at Khidmat Centres in Village Dharamsal and Kalakote, Jammu.
The gatherings at both the places were addressed by Lead District Manager (LDM) Rajouri, Arvind Kapoor and Business Unit (B/U) Head Kalakote, Sunil Kumar Sharma.
LDM Rajouri informed the people about the Bank's ‘Financial Inclusion' programme that envisaged reaching out to the people of unbanked areas of the state and bringing them into the banking fold through expanding network of Bank's delivery points and Khidmat Centres established in such areas so that benefits of economic growth reached everyone at all levels.
Addressing the gatherings, B/U Head Kalakote said that the role of Khidmat Centres was to provide basic banking facilities to the people in their own villages through smart cards to be issued to account holders.
He urged upon the people to open their accounts through their VLEs, which he said, was first step towards financial inclusion.
The programme, he said, extended to provision of various credit facilities to the people for their economic growth. Sarpanch Village Dharmasal, Rattan Lal Sharma, Sarpanch village Dali, Ranjit Singh, Sarpanch village Dalhote Talib Hussain and Panchs among others were also present in the gatherings.
People at both the places lauded the role of Bank for their economic upliftment and for providing banking facilities at their doorsteps in these far flung areas.
