J&K Bank to clash with RCF Kapurthalla in the final of 14th Police Martyrs' Football Tournament
The two finalists of the 14th Police Martyrs' Football Tournament that will have a title clash on July 18, are J&K Bank and RCF Kapurthalla. In the much anticipated second semifinal today at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar, J&K Bank beat Punjab Police by a solitary goal to reach in to the final. Zubair Shah, a midfield player of J&K Bank scored a scintillating goal in the 29th minute by putting a volley pass from Rohit into the nets. Playing with 4-4-2 formation, J&K Bank dominated in the first half and had several attacks on the opposite goal post. A few close scoring chances also went away during the first half. In the second half Punjab police team tried its best to level the score but could not beat the strong defense of Bank team. Wearing White and Black jersy, Bank team defended A.S College end goal post in the first half.
Giving standing ovation to its team from the central pavilion were Banks Executive President and Chairman Banks' Sports Board Tafazal Hussain, President G.M.Sahibzada, and Board Secretary Mohd. Amin Khan. Earlier the first semifinal was won by RCF Kapurthalla by 3-0 to reach to the final of the tournament.
