J&K Bank branches in District Doda were felicitated yesterday for their outstanding role in implementing various Government Sponsored Schemes to empower youth, boosting self-employment and promoting sustainable development.

The felicitation event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (Doda) Harvinder Singh and attended by Zonal Head (Doda) Arshad Qadri, along with officials from DIC, KVIB, NRLM, and staff from various J&K Bank branches.

Commending the Bank’s role in extending financial support for boosting youth empowerment, Deputy Commissioner appreciated its timely interventions that have significantly strengthened the self-employment ecosystem in the district. In his concluding remarks, he also praised the successful implementation of the PM Suryaghar Scheme by both J&K Bank and JKPDCL Doda, focusing on the promotion of rooftop solar installations.

On the occasion, he presented Certificates of Appreciation to branch heads for outstanding performance under schemes like PMEGP, NRLM, KCC, PM Vishwakarma, PM Suryaghar, and HADP.

Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head (Doda) Arshad Qadri highlighted that the Bank disbursed over ₹111 Cr under these schemes last fiscal, with Doda Zone emerging as a leader in agricultural financing in the region. He reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to grassroots development and financial literacy.

The felicitation underscored the collaborative spirit between financial institutions and government departments in driving inclusive and sustainable growth in the region.
