JK Bank adds two more branches to its network
With the aim to serve its customers better and to provide banking services at closest possible destinations, J&K Bank today opened two more branches, at Khomeni Chowk, Bemina, Srinagar and Duderhama, Ganderbal, amidst immense public appreciation. With this, the total branch strength of the Bank has now gone up to 577.
The branches were inaugurated jointly by Abdul Majid Mir, Bank's Executive Director /Chief Finance Officer and Parvez Ahmed, President /Zonal Head Kashmir, Central. Stating that the J&K Bank was committed to serve its customers, Abdul Majid Mir sought peoples' cooperation in helping the bank to create employment opportunities for the people of the state. "We are ready to put in cent percent dedication with all the human and technological resources available at our disposal to see to that a chain of employment generating units for youth takes a concrete shape," he said.
Appreciating the Bank Chairman Dr Haseeb Drabu's dynamic leadership and his productive strategy to focus on the state, Mir informed the customers, who were present in large numbers at both the functions, that Bank had already approached the RBI to allow it open more than 60 branches across the state.
Expressing gratitude to the people for their tremendous support and hailing the untiring efforts of the Bank's employees Mir said, "It is good to see people from across the globe investing in J&K Bank but our real strength continues to lie in unflinching support and cooperation of the people of the state coupled with the unrelenting efforts and dedicated services rendered by the employees of the Bank."
In his address, Parvez Ahmed said that solid regional base, balanced government intervention, productive and customer-friendly approach are the factors responsible for J&K Bank's success story. After identifying various economic sectors that drive the state's economy Parvez said, "We devised specific products to cater to the credit requirements of the people associated with these sectors and now our thrust would be to ensure that the people avail these schemes and change their fortunes. Besides, we intend to give boost to the education sector" he added.
Regarding Khomeni Chowk branch, Parvez stressed that the name of the branch was consciously kept, and later registered with the RBI, as a mark of respect to the great Islamic scholar Ayatullah Khomeni.
Parvez also saluted people of Ganderbal for their business sense and judicious and honest utilization of Bank finance. "Zero percent NPA in district Ganderbal is self explanatory and demands special consideration from the Bank. The lone mobile branch and inauguration of Duderhama branch, making it thirteenth in the district, is an acknowledgement of your unwavering support. And to move further on this front, we have approached Local Bodies Department to help us acquire some land for building a Community Centre for the district Ganderbal", Parvez added.
Branch Head Shabir Abbass presented vote of thanks at Khomeni Chowk while Ashiq Hussain, Branch Head Duderhama did it at Duderhama.
