Governor inaugurates First Model Branch of J&K Bank at Residency Road, Jammu Bank to come up with more model branches soon: Dr Drabu
The aesthetically renovated Residence Road, Jammu, branch of J&K Bank, was today inaugurated by the governor Mr. N.N. Vohra in presence of the Chairman of the bank, Dr Haseeb A Drabu. A large number of people including top management of the bank, the customers of the branch and local residents attended the inaugural function. The governor congratulated the bank for coming up with a branch that can truly boast of an infrastructure matching with international standards as well as using the elements from regional craftsmanship. The branch, which is one of the oldest branches of the bank, has been redesigned as part of the bank's project of converting all its branches to model branches. Speaking to the media on the occasion, Dr Haseeb Drabu said, "The bank is committed to offer quality services through world class infrastructure to its customers. It is the first initiative in the state for ‘customer experience' designing. The branch has been designed on the basis of workflow, customer footfall, type of transactions and expected time taken for different transactions. In the process we are restoring, reviving and propagating our priceless heritage along with traditional embellishments, the branch has been provided state of art technology which will reduce the time taken by the customer to do business with the bank." Dr. Drabu announced that a good number of the branches of the bank shall be converted into model branches in the next year. Notably, the branch has a very spacious customer lounge offering state-of-art seating arrangements. The service area has been laid-out aesthetically so as to provide adequate space for customers to complete their transactions. Another unique feature of the branch is the electronic Queue master that will facilitate the customers to the relevant counters through LCD screens. The customers can sit comfortably in the lounge without waiting in the queue and can see the status of their transaction on the screens. The Residency Road branch is the first branch to be redesigned and renovated under the bank's Model Branch project. The interiors of the branch have been given a complete facelift integrating thereby elements of modern architecture and the rich craft heritage of Kashmir, while as the famed Khatamband has been used for the ceiling, the glass walls have been bordered with the sozni art used in Kashmiri shawls. The internal signages remind the on-looker of the long forgotten lattice work. The customers of the branch have welcomed the efforts of the bank under the leadership of its chairman for providing the world-class services.
