Farmers hail bank's initiative : J&K Bank distributes 450 Kissan Credit Cards in Beerwah
While responding to the call of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to achieve 100 per cent target in extending credit facilities to the farmers under Kissan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, J&K Bank organized a mega Kissan Credit Card mela at town hall Beerwah in central district Budgam today. The bank distributed 450 Kissan Credit Cards involving a credit facility of Rs.1.50 crore approximately among the farmers involved in various agriculture practices.
J&K Bank President and Zonal Head Kashmir (Central) Bashir Ahmad Lone who was chief guest on the occasion handed over the cards to the beneficiaries at a simple but impressive function held at the Town hall Beerwah. Apart from large number of customers, others present on the occasion included Abdul Hamid Khan, Bank's Cluster Head for Budgam, Vikar-Ul-Mulk Nazki, Bank's Assistant Vice President and Head Marketing Division and Mohammed Yaqoob, District Lead Bank Officer.
In his address to the farmers present on the occasion, the zonal head said, "To ensure benefits of Kissan Credit Card (KCC) are extended to the entire farming community of the state, J&K Bank is all set to achieve 100% target in KCC delivery. Hundred percent coverage of the farmers' allloted to J&K Bank under Kissan Credit Card Scheme will not only simplify but smoothen credit dispensation to the farmers."
Lone highlighted the features of the scheme and initiatives taken by J&K Bank for eradication of unemployment and upliftment of economically downtrodden sections of society in J&K state in general and district Budgam in particular.
Terming agriculture as the backbone of the state's economy, Lone reiterated Bank's commitment to provide hefty credit volumes in the state to this sector. He also informed the gathering that such camps would be organized at regular intervals to give flip to KCC scheme.
Speaking on the occasion Cluster Head Abdul Hamid Khan highlighted the features of the KCC scheme and initiatives taken by J&K Bank for eradication of unemployment. He said the drive to distribute KCCs among farming community will continue in other blocks of district Budgam on regular intervals.
On the occasion, the local participants & beneficiaries hailed the pro-active and professional approach shown by J&K Bank while processing and sanctioning of 450 Kissan Credit Cards in minimum possible time frame.
