Eminent economist among two inducted on J&K Bank Board
The Vice-Chancellor of University of Pune, Dr. Narendra Jadhav has joined the Board of J&K Bank. Dr. Jadhav is an eminent economist backed with more than 30 years distinguished service with Reserve Bank of India, including as Principal Adviser and Chief economist, when he played an important role in macro-economic policy making in India. Dr. Jadhav will be bringing with him a unique set of skills and dimensions, which will add value and compliment the business objectives of the bank. A prolific writer, Dr. Jadhav has written 11 books mainly on economic and social issues and has over 100 research papers to his credit in national and international journals of repute. He has also served as Advisor to Executive Director for India at the International Monetary Fund and Senior Economic Advisor to various governments, including Ethopia. More recently he was involved in the reconstruction of Afghanistan economy, as Chief Economic Counselor. It is expected that with such experience, J&K Bank will be seeing further transcendion of its policies, making them more relevant to the present macro-economic scenario. The bank has also inducted Mr. G. M. Dug on its Board. Mr. Dug has been on the Board of the bank earlier also. A well-known figure in the hotel industry of Kashmir, Mr. Dug has twice in the past, held the prestigious position of President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry and provided representation on the Board of several well-known state government undertakings. Mr. Dug has made valuable contribution for the promotion of various segments of J&K economy such as Tourism, Exports, Handicrafts and Industries and in his present association with J&K Bank, will be adding value based on his experience and knowledge.
