Cafe Coffee Day Opens Finally the youth have a place to chill out: Dr Drabu
It was a cheerful moment for hundreds of coffee lovers today when the first outlet of Bangalore based brand Cafe Coffee Day was inaugurated at Durganagh, Sonawar by Dr Haseeb A Drabu, Chiarman and Chief Executive of J&K Bank.
Minister of State for Tourism, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani and Mayor of the City, Mr Salman Sagar were the guests of honour.
Cafe Coffee Day is an outlet of India's leading coffee exporters Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd (ABCTCL). The amalgam runs more than 1100 such stores around the world. Dr Drabu said, "The opening of a pan India chain like Cafe coffee Day is an important event and very symbolic. The youth of the city, who are starved of eating out places and entretainment will now have access to a world class facility. CCD is a conglomerate worth 750 crores, which already runs 3 outlets in Jammu, plans to open at least 7 such more outlets at various tourist destinations in the valley.
A spokesperson of Kashmir Economic Forum (KEF), a body of various business houses and associations of Kashmir said, "Dr Drabu has been personally involved and has finally succeeded in persuading the company to set their shop in the valley".
He further added, "We have come to learn from various sources that even Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) another renowned multinational food company is also looking for suitable spaces for their Pizza Hut food counters in the valley. It means others too will follow the trend."
The outlet offers all specialities in coffee besides sandwiches, pastry and chocolate fantasies. Till afternoon, more than hundred customers had already visited the outlet.
"The response has bee simply excellent" said Bhuvenish, Asstt. Manager, Cafe Coffee Day. Mr. Sunil Nayyar (Territorial Head North) and Ms Pallavi (Marketing Head North) represented ABCTCL on the occasion.
