4th International Buyer Seller Meet
J&K Bank Chairman & CEO Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad today addressed the 4thInternational Buyer Seller Meet organised by Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) here at SKICC Srinagar. The meet was inaugurated by the chief minister Omar Abdullah.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said, "Handicrafts like agriculture, horticulture and tourism is one of the key drivers of our state economy. We at J&K Bank not only understand this but have been pro-active in taking steps to address the under-financed aspects of this immensely potential craft economy. We have already tailored Dastkar Finance to meet the financial requirements of artisans and craftsmen."
"However, we need to place at the center the people, who employ their time and toil in creating these works of wonderful art and craft we all feel proud to be associated with. And here, I assure you that people engaged with handicrafts sector especially artisans shall not have any credit related problem," he added.
For protection and promotion of this rich cultural heritage I think that all of us need to strive in our own ways to make the fair sharing of profits as well as prosperity to the households, which are home to such treasure-making, a real possibility, he added.
He congratulated KCCI for organizing the meet fourth time and said, "KCCI has taken many strides in achieving its objectives of promoting business, trade and economic relations in Kashmir through proactive initiatives. Over the years, KCCI has facilitated business collaborations, joint ventures, marketing tie-ups and strategic alliances."
