J&K Bank family shocked, condoles demise of 4 colleagues

Bidding a tearful adieu to their colleagues including two security guards - who lost their lives in a tragic accident at Bani Kathua while discharging their duty – the entire J&K Bank family held condolence meetings across the J&K region.

The deceased include Assistant Banking Associate Kewal Krishan, Banking Attendant (Driver) Bikram Singh, Armed Guard (Contractual) Yashpaul and Security Guard Harbans Singh (through security agency).

The Bank’s CMD R K Chhibber presided over the condolence meet held at Zonal Office - which was attended by the Zonal Head Jammu (Central I) Sudhir Gupta, Zonal Head Jammu (Central II) Narjay Gupta, Vice President (S&C) Shareesh Sharma, Cluster Heads Vikram Malhotra and Satish Kumar, and other bank staff - besides attending the cremation ceremony of the deceased.  

Chairman & MD R K Chhibber expressed his deep sorrow over the shocking death of four colleagues and said that the entire J&K Bank family mourns their loss and equally shares the grief of their families.

Expressing his condolences for the deceased families, he said, “The death of our colleagues is so shocking that one feels at loss to even express condolences and sympathies for the bereaved families. However, the entire J&K Bank family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic happening and in this hour of grief and loss we stand by the bereaved families and pray for the peace of departed souls.”

“Having said that, let me reiterate that J&K Bank is an institution that not only values the commitment and dedication of its every employee but takes care of his/her welfare comprehensively. So, we will take care of the bereaved families of our colleagues and ensure their financial well-being in every possible way”, the Chairman added.
The bank’s Executive President P K Tickoo presided over the condolence meeting that was held here at the bank’s Corporate Headquarters and was attended by Presidents, Vice Presidents besides and the entire CHQ staff.

“We are here to express our profound sadness over the tragic accident that took away the lives of our four young colleagues. It is very difficult to bear the loss of such young colleagues with a promising future ahead and more so for their families, kith and kin. However, we pray for their patience to bear this irreparable loss and stand by them to see them through this rough patch of destiny”, Earlier, the bank’s President HRD Mohammad Maqbool Lone gave a detailed account of their itinerary before the tragic incident and paid rich tributes to the departed colleagues besides praying for their souls to rest in peace. 

The participants observed a two-minute silence in honour of the deceased at all the condolence meetings, which concluded with prayers and supplications for the departed souls.
Notably, the fateful accident happened yesterday when the bank’s cash van, which was supposed to deliver cash at business unit Bani, skidded off the road and fell into a 400-foot gorge near Bani in Kathua district.
