With a purpose to provide modern and high-tech banking facilities in the modern look, spacious and comfortable ambience, the new premises of J&K Bank's business unit Kachdoora, was inaugurated yesterday. Besides, the bank dedicated two ATMs at Yarkipora, Kulgam and Kralpora, Kupwara to the public, raising the total strength of the JK Bank ATM network to 274.
Amidst a huge customer presence, the new premises was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Majid Khanday, District Development Commissioner, Shopian Mr. Among others present on the occasion include Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad, Bank's President, Mr. B. A. Lone, Vice President (South Kashmir) and Mr. Gh. Rasool Bhat, Cluster Head.
Mr. Khanday in his speech appreciated the role of J&K bank in the economic development of the state and asked people to avail benefits of the customized products designed by the Bank. "They are tailor-made to suit your requirements and empower you. Avail them to better your lives", he said.
Mr. Khanday also thanked the Bank Management for providing new premises equipped with all facilities and especially making anywhere banking facility available to the people at a far off locality like Kachdora.
Mr Parvaiz Ahmad, President J&K Bank in his speech apprised the gathering about the various steps taken by the J&K Bank in the economic development of the State. He affirmed that J&K bank is not only a credit providing institution for the people of J&K but its obligations go beyond that.
Mr Bashir Ahmad Lone also addressed the gathering and replied different queries raised by the people.
Pertinently, the branch was working in a small space for the last many years.
Meanwhile, amidst scores of customers an ATM of the Bank was inaugurated near business unit Yarkipora, Kulgam on Monday 19th of October. Speaking on the occasion Mr Bashir Ahmed Lone, Bank's Zonal Head for South Kashmir urged the customers to take full advantage of the technology driven facilities like ATM, credit cards, e-Banking etc.
Another ATM was dedicated to the public at Kralpora,Kupwara raising the total number of ATMs in Kupwara district to 4. The inauguration of the machine was done by Dy. Commissioner Kupwara, Mr. Showkat Ahmad Mir. Overall strength of ATM network of the bank is 274 in the country and 22 in the north Kashmir.
Mr. Ab. Hamid Banday, Vice President North Zone Kashmir welcomed the chief guest and clients for attending inaugural function of the ATM. Mr. Banday informed the audience that within a short span Bank is contemplating installation of more ATMs in Kupwara .
Chief Guest while inaugurating the ATM hailed the efforts of the Bank in reaching out to the far off places in boarder area of this district. He appreciated the Bank for providing world class banking services in remote area of the State. He urged the management to realign the corporate goals with the view to cover more and more unbanked segments of the district.
